Japan!

This card really made my day! I won't say I'm a fan of the Snoopy comic series, but I generally like cartoon characters. This card was sent from Japan, and I think it is just fantastic!

A very matching stamp was posted together with the card. The stamp is part of a set of 10 stamps featuring characters from the Snoopy comic strip. They were issued on the 3rd March 2010. Really lovely set isn't it?

I also like the special Christmas postmark beside the stamp. What a wonderful card to receive during the Christmas season!

Thank you very much for the lovely card Miwako!

Patras, Greece

Wow, Christmas has passed by already. How time flies! Doesn't really feel like the Christmas season though due to the hot, sunny weather here... But anyway, here's a nice little card from Greece. I found it while packing my room.

A wonderful night view of the Rio-Antirrio bridge! Located near Patras, it links the town of Rio to mainland Greece. Today, it is the world's longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge. And yes it looks magnificent by night. The difficulty in constructing the bridge lay in the fact that the bridge in located at a site where seismic activity is quite common. Hence, it is really quite an engineering feat!

This is going to be a long, but interesting post! I received this letter in my mailbox some time ago from Flor who lives in Peru; nice envelope :D. Here's the front view:

Cape Point, Cape Peninsula, South Africa

Possibly the most beautiful postcard I have received to date: a few of Cape Point in South Africa! Cape point is a promontory at the Southwestern tip of the African continent, though it is not the Southern most point of the African continent. There is an old lighthouse located at the top of Cape Point that still serves to guide ships today. I really like the scene on this postcard!

Blumenau, Brazil

I got this letter from Brazil few days ago. It came it this colourful envelope, with many lovely stamps!

The sender is from Blumenau, a city in Brazil. Blumenau was founded in 1850 by German immigrants, which probably explains why it is very strongly influenced by the German culture.

Egypt

Wow, I haven't posted here for a long time! Anyway, here is an interesting card that I've received during this period. It comes from Egypt and it is my first Egyptian card.

The card basically shows some typical scenes from Egypt.

Here are the stamps that were attached on the card. I'm trying to find out more information about them. I'll update this post when I manage to :D

Thank you for the wonderful swap Rainer!
