Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai, China

I've been receiving quite a number of cards from the People's Republic of China, but I've never been willing to upload them because it is so hard to find information about the stamps! Well, I finally do have a source of information, so here come a card from the People's Republic of China, the Shanghai World Financial Center!

At 492 meters, this skyscraper is currently the second tallest in the world, just behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It's a pretty cool place; I've been up there at night, and it does offer a panoramic view of the city. The ambiance up there is quite nice, with dim lighting, making it a rather comfortable environment to be in :).

Now for the stamps. They're not very new stamps. The one on the left depicts the White-flag dolphin, also known as the Baiji. It is a critically endangered species and as of 2007, had been declared functionally extinct. This stamp was issued on 25th February 2000 along with 9 others which depict animals under the Chinese government's protection.

The other stamp was issued on 13th June 1997 along with 5 others on the theme of the Maiji Grottoes.

Thank you very much for the lovely card and stamps Zihu!
